Energy and environment (EMIS)

We measure energy, water and emissions across your site, by area and per tonne, and watch your environmental limits before they are exceeded.

The problem it solves

The energy bill comes once a month, for the whole site.

Nobody can say which area uses more than last month, or what a tonne costs in power, diesel and water.

Environmental limits are checked after the fact, from lab results and spreadsheets.

What you get

  • Energy by area

The main substation and a feeder per area: power, demand peaks, energy per day and per tonne.

  • Every utility

Diesel, natural gas, compressed air, and raw, process and reclaim water.

  • Environmental monitoring

Air quality stations, stacks, water discharge and the tailings facility, in one place.

  • Limits watched

Rolling averages compared with your regulatory limits; an exceedance is flagged and alerted.

  • Reports

Energy intensity, peaks and exceedances, daily and monthly.

How it works

  1. 01

    Take stock

What is measured today, what is missing, and which limits apply.

  2. 02

    Model

Areas, meters and limits in PI AF or a database.

  3. 03

    Calculate

Intensities, rolling averages and exceedances, computed continuously.

  4. 04

    Report and alert

Dashboards, reports and alerts for the people who act.

Outcomes

  • Energy per tonne, by area

Where the energy goes, and what each tonne costs.

  • Limits under control

A drift is seen before it becomes an exceedance.

  • Savings found

Peaks and waste become visible, so they can be reduced.

A good fit when

  • Energy is paid for the whole site, not by area.
  • You report emissions or water quality to a regulator.
  • Your meters exist, but their data is rarely used.
  • You have energy or emission reduction targets.

Common questions

Do we need new meters?

Not always. We start with what you have and list the gaps, with what each new meter would add.

Does it work with PI?

Yes. PI and AF are a good base, with analyses for the totals and averages. Other databases work too.

Can we see it first?

Yes. Every simulated mine of our training and development environment runs its energy and environment monitoring, with limits and exceedances.
